In this video, Austin, a 17-year-old brain tumor survivor, and his music therapist, Brett Northrup, describe how they collaborated in using music to help Austin cope with his aggressive treatments and lengthy hospital stays.

Austin’s “Hospital Blues” captures the ups and downs of dealing with a chronic life threatening illness in a way that can only be expressed through the creative use of his music.

The Coping Cart at Norton Children’s Hospital is designed to help ease children’s stress and anxiety.
